FAQ’s for Peek-a-boo DNA Gender Test

Clinical studies have shown that fetal DNA clears from mom’s bloodstream between a few hours to 2 days after birth.

In the case of identical twins, if male DNA is found, then both babies are boys. If no male DNA is found, then both babies are girls. For fraternal twins (or more!), finding male DNA will confirm at least one baby is a boy, but cannot distinguish if the second is a boy or girl.

Peek-a-boo is a DNA-based test, so hormones do not impact results.

Peek-a-boo looks only for the presence of Y chromosomes and is extremely sensitive and accurate. No blood thinners or other drugs are known to impact Peek-a-boo gender results.

Peek-a-boo is a non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT), and it’s safe for both mom and baby.

In most cases you will get your results the next business day in the Evening. Please be aware of the following :

Results are sent out by email the same day the sample reaches the lab however it is generally very late in the evening.
Samples are sent FedEx next day air provided that you are seen at our facility early enough during the day for us to make the FedEx pick up cut off. It is recommended that you are seen before 3 PM to allow us time to get the sample delivered to FedEx, otherwise there may be one day delay . 

Samples taken on a Friday may still ship out on Friday if seen before 3pm, however, due to lab closure on Saturday, your lab will not process until Monday, or the next business day if Monday is a holiday.

Samples taken on the Weekend or Holiday will ship out the next Business day

Goldenview ultrasound (also DBA’s Blooming Baby and Great Expectations HD ) is not responsible for shipping delays caused by FedEx for any reason . There are no refunds due to shipping delays. Results will be emailed in the evening the day it is received by the lab.

Holiday lab closures may also cause a delay so please feel free to inquire on or near a holiday. Please feel free to ask for a tracking number.

NOTE:  We highly recommend that you do not plan a gender reveal until your results have been delivered to your trusted party.

 If your test result does not match the gender of your newborn, you’ll receive a full refund.

We know your DNA information is personal. To protect your privacy:

  1. Peek-a-boo tests only for baby’s gender. No data is gathered about disease states or other health-related information.
  2. After the test is run, your DNA sample is disposed of by a professional chemical management company in compliance with federal standards.
  3. Peek-a-boo never shares your results with anyone other than the email address you provide
